I am going to check out a 02 650 tonight ..the guys selling it swears its in perfect condition, says it only has 250 miles and and 30 hours on it..he wants 5500 for it with a set of 589's that are on it..(stockers included of course)..So is this a fair deal if its in the shape he says it is? I know trade in value is 4600 and retail is 6400...any opinions on this????

Sounds fair to me. Ride it hard, & ride it easy. Use low range in 2wd & 4wd forward and reverse & do the same in high range. Climb some hills & put a strain on engine. If it passes these test, I think you would be getting a steal, not to mention you are not having to pay tax!

You can buy'em NEW in central Ohio for $6300 OTD, in your case you don't pay Ohio sales tax. I bought mine even cheaper, $6150, I was in the right place at the right time, though.
If that bike is straight, and you can document the service history, that is a fair price with those upgrade tires! You could take it to a dealer for a pre-purchase inspection. That should cost about an hour's labor, but is WELL WORTH IT! Good hunting!

The warranty can be purchased for $370 online. It is the factory(Good-Times) warranty.

I paid $6299 in Indianapolis. A dealer in Mishawaka, Indiana and one in Knightstown, IN were advertising in the Auto-RV magazine at $6299. The dealer in Indianapolis matched their ad. You might try the same thing. Keep in mind though that the 650 is pretty tough! The used one will probably be a good deal.

Central Ohio, Columbus. I'll email the dealer name and ph.#, if you wish. Just remember, if you have to title it in your state, they will probably nick you for (your) state sales tax at the time of registration!
