I own a Bayou 250. It has developed ticking from the engine. Took it to the dealer and they checked cams and valves. They said the cams and valves are in spec and they believe the ticking in normal. The ticking happens only when it is in idle. Has anybody else experienced this? I believe the dealership may be misleading me saying this is ok.

My brother-in-law has a 2000 220 he bought new and it ticks like your wouldn't believe!! We've redone the valves so many times it isn't funny. We believe it's just the nature of the beast and are just going to run it as is until it blows up.

I have the 250 as well, and it ticks also. It sounds exactly like the valvas. My lakota does it but when I adjust the valves it stops. I tried to adjust the valvas on the bayou, but they were within tollerence.
