coolant change on p650
#2
Take off reservoir tank completely. Unscrew middle bottom bolt on water pump behind resevoir...hook a small diameter hose up to it, coolant will be coming out fast. When it stops replace the bolt. refill the radiator to the top, turn it on, let idle for 30 secs, kill motor. Top off radiator, shut cap, dump rest of coolant into reservoir.
Let me beat you to your next question.
System holds 2.22 quarts of coolant.

are there any problems with the coolant that comes in it from the factory or dealer. my radiator is pretty well clean and the fan sometimes runs for a minute or 2 after turning it off. also, I saw a while ago someone talking about the temp when fan goes on or off. where can I get a thermometer to check the temp and also where and how do I check it? thanks alot for your help.

There's no problem with the 50/50 ratio the dealer uses.
The 50/50 mix will give you a lower freezing temperature, somewhere around -15 degrees (farenheit), I believe. But antifreeze doesn't disperse heat (cool) as well as water does.
The 75/25 mix (water/anti-freeze) gives you a higher freezing temperature (between 10-15 degrees F) but has better heat dispersion (cooling) properties. This combined with a few ounces of moto-cool or water wetter, provides better heat dispersion while still having anti-corrosion protection, as well as water pump lubrication. I'm just gonna have to change it out again when the cold weather comes, but it's worth it running cooler.
