I'm rejetting tonight. I got the 145 and 148 jets from Kawi - here are part numbers and what I paid for those interested:

Ref # Part # Description What I Paid
92063D 92063-1017 JET-MAIN,#145 7.08
92063I 92063-1324 JET-MAIN,#148 7.08
99924-1261-01 Service Manual KVF650 36.95

I have two options, move the 142 to the front and put the 145 in the rear. Second option is to put the 145 in the front and the 148 in the rear.

I have the NAPA hose and a Twin Air. Elevation that I ride at is 800 to 1200. I'm considering just doing the 145 and 148 jets instead of starting with the 145 and 142 and then moving up to the 145 and 148 combo. Just less taking it apart.

Any thoughts on this?

Peace,
Sgt_Rock

I have keihin jets in my carbs,135 fr and 138 Rr,Canadian version of Napa hose (Dayco)and mod muffler, but i dont have twin air filter. I run at 3200Ft, temp +40 to +90 f . chokes unhooked.
still running a little on the rich side,on the weekend we rode up to 7000 Ft where it was more noticable ( oh yes honda riders even on the honda's). If it ever stops raining and snowing i will do some more plug chops. Please keep posting updates it will be interesting to see how it works out for you. By the way i paid about $8.50 cdn ea. for my jets from aftermarket dealer, FYI cdn money is worthless about .63 US

SgtRock...A good friend of mine had a completely stock 650 and decided to get a k&n filter for it. We are about 1500ft and this caused his 650 to run very hot. I shemmed his needles and put 142,145 jets in. This seemed to fix it for him. BUT, if I did it again, I would go with 145,148 and try to get a little more air into the air box. Also, I turned the mixture screw out to 3 turns. I also put the black EPI Spring in for him...He is very happy!!! I must be a great frind!!!

A good friend indeed Encore454! I'm going to go with the 145 148 combo. I'm working on it now, and thought I'd check for a reply before I put the jets. My driver was the machine running hot with the intake and filter opened up. I'm going to go with the DG in the fall and a pipe as well, so this should save me another jetting adventure.

roscoe69, I'm going to be in the Slave Lake area this fall for a moose and bear hunt. Are you in that area?

Peace,

Im located two hours from Jasper Park and two hours from Edmonton . We live in the foothills, pine forest ,hills and lots of muskeg. we can trailer to the mountains in one hr .Moose here is by draw in most area's.
We have been getting snow in the mountains for the last three days, temp will be +32 f tonight, i expect a frost if it stops raining. good luck on the hunt and make sure your chokes are not sticking before too many jet changes.

Raymond:

I haven't had my chokes stick yet, but I'm on the look out for it.

Bring your skibbys in Slave around Sept. Oct. time will have frost on the ground and maybe some snow be prepared for cool weather. I live about an hour from Slave maybe a little more but easy access. Are you bringing your Kawi with you? You haven't seen bush like you are going to see, thousands of miles of willderness.

My bike is modded up with jets, pipe, snorkle and with 28in Outlaws great mud machine. Before you come up this way drop me a line and we can meet.

We could get assorted weather in sept and oct. One thing for sure there will be frost at night and possible up to + 80 F during the day.Up here in the foothills we look forward to Sept.Best season of the year, the indian summer ,cold at night very warm during the day. At least there will be no bugs.Always a good possibility of snow storms. October could be the snow that stays all winter. Alltoys is correct bring lots of clothing and the cutlines and bush is endless( Well untill you go north of 60)

Thanks for heads up on the weather. I'll make sure I bring a good variety of clothing!

I'm flying in so no P650 this trip. We'll hunting from canoes, which is going to be new experience for me.

As far as I know, the only place to get the carbtune is www.carbtune.com, which is a U.K. based Co. They were great to deal with and shipping was only 6 days.

Peace,
