How far have you ridden a Prairie 650 on a tank of gas?
#1
I've only got about 300 miles on my prairie and were planning on going to Hatfield-Mccoy trail area in a couple of weeks and was wandering how long or how far you can ride on a tank of gas. I read on another post of somebody riding 121 miles in a day but in the middle of the trail they hit a gas station. I guess that would be great if you knew your way around, and where the gas stations were located. Just don't want to run out of fuel, thinking about buying a 5gal. gas can carrier. If anybody has any comments or info it would be appreciated. Thanks DennisC

I live only 10 minutes away and yes I have riden them every one.
Ratings as follows in my opinion
Buffalo Mountain - Rough Stuff single lane trails and sometimes muddy
Browning Fork - Nice Riding mixed with some serious trails - some single path and some wooohoo
Bear Wallow - Mostly easy however good scenic riding and trail 94 has claimed many a 4 wheeler and rider.
All three have nice scenery BF you can ride in the town of Man to get to trail head, ride out to Gilbert and you can ride in the town there for food. BM you can ride out to Matewan and see the historical district over there. Bear Wallow trail only riding however it is only 5 mins outside of Logan and closest to the expressway. You can ride all day on each of the three but if you ride Bear Wallow you need to take gas as there are not any fuel station like Mate, Gilbert or Man that you can legally ride to.

I have made it up it tis not bad until you reach the top then it goes about 65-75 degrees on you and is rutted. Just loose rock mostly and steep.
It comes off trail 69 if that gives you any idea har har just kidding. However you can look over into it from the trail I think it is either 14 or 16 that leads out to Logan that is green. if you go to trailsheaven.com you can see it's layout there.
