Rev Limiter

Yes there is rev limiter as such but any sustained high revs is not good for any machine even race motors. Any pro racer will tell you motors are not designed to rev passed a certain point even if you wanted it to. Only because of valve float and some other factors but if at that point you decide to keep it there trust me it will fail. It doesn't hurt any engine to attain the highest rev limit but drop it down imediately there after. Your power band is always approximately 2000 rpm above idle and 1000 rpm below upper rev limit. Once you have acheived upper power band rpm your power will actually drop off considerably. Even 2 strokes will eventually lose power only because of mechanical inherant defalts. The only engines that seem to defy logic are turbines and if you remember the old Wankle engine. Again it doesn't hurt to find the upper rev limit just make sure you drop it down reasonably soon!!!!
