I am starting to notice that my prairie 650 is starting to squeel when pulling out on a hill sometimes. It almost feels like a slip. Let me know if anyone knows of this happening to them. THe prairie has 700 miles on it.

You will see lots of commentary on this issue. The belts tend to do this as they get some wear and tear and stretch on them. You can do it yourself if you are mechanically inclined, or your dealer can do it for you. Should be a warranty issue.

Don't feel bad when I bought mine it had the squeal from day 1. I thought it was normal... Kawi is starting to deal with this issue, and they tell me it will be dealt with soon. Keep having it adjusted and new belts on it when it needs one, don't just let it get worse.

No idea what a "Alien Muskie" is. A fresh water Barracuda?

try Italian Muski, Sounds like it's a moldy sub from subway on Italian bread.

Thanks for the info guys. I was starting to worry about the belt. This is my first time dealing with an automatic. Is it safe to go up hills and haul things? Any pointers on how to adjust the belt? A muski is a fresh water fish from a river I live by.

Since your bike is so new, keep taking it to the dealer for repair. Original manufacturers warranty should cover this.

Kawi650: What you say about Kawasaki acknowledging that they have a problem with their belts is encouraging, I hope that they will come up with a fix for this real soon! The quad itself is a very reliable and capable but the belt issue is very discouraging.......MJSTX
