Overall they liked it, but they did not like the transmission. They said it is never in the right gear, and is geared way too high. They also said that it is not that fast. Does not have the explosive acceleration of the Grizzly or Prarie.

I think it airs again this morning at 9:30am.

That was one of the worst reviews I have ever seen, the guys got to be pretty good if he can guess its speed instead of going head to head. I'm not saying the prairie isn't quicker (I know the top speed is the same) I just thought he should have kept that till he could show us. I'm riding with a Prairie this weekend.

It is cute how some of you boys are looking over your shoulder, concerned you might not be the top dog anymore. Don't worry, competition is good and makes the OEM's turn out a better machine. If it wasn't for the Prairie who knows when the Rincon might have been developed.

I read in a magazine (ATV Magaxine??) that the top speed for the Rincon was 55mph. Let us know how the 2 bikes compare after your ride this week.

He did not say what the top speed was, he only said that it did not have the same explosive acceleration as the Prarie and Grizzly. It is very easy to tell if something accelerates faster.

I have had mine upto 62 mph on a gravel road, it may get a mile or two on a hard surface but no more than that. I have 5 friends with prairies(1 picked his up last week)and the best any of them has done is 62. By the way I have a video of the speedo while I accelerate, you might be surpised how quick it is. The second run was more aggressive than the first, it's a little scary going across a field driving with one hand and taping with the other. On the second run the front end came off the ground over a foot.

Accelerating

The best I’ve done on my 03 Prairie 650 is 64 mph on a gravel road, and I weigh 225.

Ostie, I hope you don't mind me posting that video on my ATV website. Take more videos. I like watchin stuff other people do. Don't just show it driving through a flat field, though.

I like the rincon. I think it would be a great machine for 50% of the trails I ride on. I'm not trading my 650 for one, at least until someone shows me a locking diff and more 28" nasty-diggin-tire-turing power (28" tires not in my sig, but they are hangin in the garage). From the video, listening to the motor, the shifting and looking at the speedo, I think it is missing a low range for my type of riding.

I know people that will never ride like I do, and they would be happy with the rincon. I also know people that ride much more aggressively than I do, and I do not believe they would go for it. I think this Rincon is the perfect machine for some of the people I know, and it is missing stuff for other people I know. It is also too expensive for some of those people who would really like it. I bet it is a hot seller.

Nyroc - got a project for 'ya: I want to see a Prarie outfitted with Nitrious. It would be relatively easy I would think. You would definately need to engineer some wheelie bars.

Yep, a "Sprayed Prarie", I can just picture 'em at the race tracks....
