Hey what up all........went to my cousins where he just got a new 2002 250ex, and he let me ride it. I thought it was pretty good but its true about the front being light, Me well I personally wont a Lakota and after riding the 250ex I think it has pretty respectable power and since the Lakota is better than the 250 in almost every category, I'm looking forward to getting the Lakota but I have a while to go still though! Oh and I think the 250 went pretty good and It seemed pretty fast in the fields....but the suspension needs a little work.......Just another reason why I like Kawasaki, don't get me wrong, the 250 was nice but the Lakota seems better.

Another future lakota owner, good.I too have a Lakota and when i bought it i was looking at hondas 250ex/300ex and yamahas blaster as well.I decided to go with the 2002 Kawasaki Lakota Sport 300 being my first quad(kinda of a rookie to this sport)and all.I did do a little of homework before and after i bought it though(read several magazines as well as in the net). One of them being "DIRTWHEELS" March 2002 issue where they had a SHOOTOUT:HONDA 250ex -Vs- Kawasaki Lakota Sport. The honda 250ex is a nice machine(took the Lakota on the overall ergonomic relationship between the seat, bars, footpegs and controls/and weight factor). But in the final conclusion the overall winner in their "entry-level" sport ATV comparison is the Kawasaki Lakota. It is sportier handling, faster, and has more and better suspension travel than the 250ex.Several persons on this and other forums have said that a Lakota can also take on the 300ex as well(i have never seen it myself though).I have several months with my quad almost a year and its still running good, ive done a few mods to it.250ex/300ex/blasters are all nice quads but i went for the Kawasaki Lakota Sport 300.So far my "LITTLE BLUE MULE" hasnt let me down.Good luck on your next quad purchase.

I agree on the Lakota being better . It is slightly larger , the Suspension is adjustable , the power is better . the Lakota sport just handles better to me . I read all those articles where Dirt Wheels and the others were bashing the Lakota Sport calling it a rehashed utility . They were just trying to tick Kawasaki into making a new sport quad . Granted the new 400 and the Lakota are two different ends of sport quad but the Lakota is about as much quad as you really need for fast trails . I just plain like mine . When I bought it I was looking at 250ex 300ex and 400 ex . I liked the 400EX but no reverse and the 250 and 300 felt to small physically for me . I have had my "01 sport for exactly one year now and so far no problems with it . I have some trophies and ribbons I won in ATV Rodeos that prove it will Run pretty good . I used it last year to haul out my Buck in Deer season with the optional rear rack and Camo Cover from www.buyKawasaki.com and my handlebar mounted gun racks . Thats another reason I like the Lakota , I can race it all summer then slap on my rack, gunrack and my Realtee cover and use it to ride through the mud to get to my hunting land . I guess you can see that I like the versatile Lakota Sport . I have owned some very hi-perf quads in the past but I cant see hunting off a two stroke right now . another plus for the auto clutch is that i can ride along with my daughter and wife without wearing out my clutch hand . and when rock crawling i can ease up stuff i would start spinning on with a manual clutch . Just my humble opinion of the Lakota Sport .
