I RECENTLY PURCHASED A HONDA RINCON,BOY I COULDN'T WAIT TO GET IT ON THE HATFIELD MCC0Y TRAIL{3 MILES FROM HOME} WELL I HAD THE SUPRISE OF MY LIFE. THE TRAILS I HAD RODE MY HONDA 300 4X4 ON, I HAD A HARD TIME IN SLOWING THE RINCON DOWN. FULL HARD BRAKING WAS THE ONLY THING THAT WOULD SLOW ME ON THE STEEP GRADES WE HAVE HERE. I WONDER IF HONDA HAD THOUGHT THIS THING THOROGHLY ENOUGH.SURE WASN'T MADE FOR MY KIND OF RIDING!! P.S. IT'S A VERY SMOOTH RIDE AND HAS GOBS OF POWER.JUST THAT I LIKE TO GO DOWN HILL WITHOUT BURNING THE BRAKES UP!

Excellent point 3TV. I have really grown to mistrust magazine reviews. I don't appreciate media in general, since they sometimes tell us things so far from the truth. Always twisting and stretching stuff.

Like the idiots doing those stories on ATV safety. Fueled by misleading and downright false claims made by the Condumer Federation of America, Natural Trails and Water Coalition and more, some television reporters completely misrepresented our sport. ATVA, however, has pointed out that the ATV related injuries occurances per operator have drastically reduced. We are much safer than we were in 93 (pat ourselves on the back). The media hasn't apologized to anybody, nor have they admitted that the consumer federation was misleading the public.

all the quad rags want is our money. and the money of advertisers. they tell everyone what they want to hear, or what brand of ride is paying the most. hell, if rambler came out with a quad and paid enough advertising,
it would be the baddest in the land. thats how the keep afloat.

just a thought..

THE RINCON HAS EXCELLENT BRAKES. IT'S JUST THAT IT DOESN'T HAVE A LOW ENOUGH GEAR TO SLOW YOU DOWN ON THE VERY STEEP HILLS. YEA GUYS I KNOW THIS IS A KAW. FORUM BUT DON'T YOU GUYS KNOW MORE THAN THE HONDA PEOPLE.

Go into the nearest Wal-mart and go into the fishing section and get a boat anchor and through that off the back when you want to slow down or a polaras same thing.

Just joking relax. Its a car stile tranny and there is nothing you can do. They just keep the speed. Its just an incorporated design flaw that is something that has to be worked around.

Yeah! Don't hurt my feelings to read of other experiences especially with the new stuff out there. I wondered how Honda was going to address the compression situation, and maybe they just ignored it.
