02 650 starting problem-choke cable appears to be working correctly,
only have 8 hours on the beast and will be bringing to dealer for
the first servicing soon. It takes a good 5 minutes to get it running,and I'm sure the battery is taking a beating as is the starter.
Anyone else having similiar problems?

 

I'm having the same problem. Only when the machine is cold. After it warms up it starts and runs great. I think it's the choke cable. Kaw sent a service directive to the dealers to replace it. When you take it in for service tell the dealer to replace it. Hope that will fix the problem for both of us. Good luck

 

Same problem and more. after weeks and alot of effort my carbs were both replaced idles good runs strong replace your choke cable

I havnt noyiced any starting issues except for leaving my gas on ..flooded the carbs ..same problem w/my bros 03..only did it once

i haven,t had any problems with my 03 as of yet. only have 2 hours on it but so far so good. starts right up, even when cold.
