This weekend while pulling an atv drag, something let go in my trany, I was in low range, was pulling and heard noise, like gears make if they're not fully engaged. I have no high range all, even though I wasn't in high, only low and revs. I have to hold shifter forward to stay in low. Has anyone heard of this?? Any ideas? The dealer doesn't know and no warranty.

help!!!!!!!!!!!

I pulled my 650 this past weekend too, and made darn sure the shift linkage was adjusted dead-on before I went to the pull. The last thing you want is the machine trying to jump out of gear while under the stress of pulling a weight sled. It's possible the linkage may have bent, but more likely that you have internal damage. I wouldn't start the machine at all. If there are broken pieces, they are now in your engine oil. There are c-clips that hold the gears in place on the shaft, one of those could have popped out if the machine tried to jump out of gear while pulling.

I'm scarred for you Highgear. Hope it doesn't cost you too much.
