Mojave vs 300ex
I am trying to decide whether to buy a Mojave or a 300 ex. My problem is, when i read the shootouts against the 2, it seems like the magazine is biased. Basically I am asking you which one is better. I know that this is the kawasaki forum and youll probally say the Mojave, but please be honest b/c this is alot of money for me and I really want to get the best ATV for the money. The only 2 Im looking at are the mojave and the 300ex. Ive ruled all other ATVs out of the picture. Im 5'8" 125 pounds. The riding I do is mainly in a sand pit. I usually ride up and down the huge sand hills, so Im wondering which ATV has more climbing power. I also want to know which is a better jumper, better handler, faster, more fun to ride, and more reliable. Thanks alot

You should do a search of this topic as it has been discussed many times both here and on the Honda forum.
I used to have a 250X before my Mojave and l like my Mojave better. The Mojave has better midrange and top end power that works better for my in the snow and climbing the sand piles at the local gravel pits. Reverse is way easier to use and the suspension is stiffer. A couple of things I like about my 250X was the quanitity of accessories available for it. You can get stuff for the Mojave like swingarms and A-arms but you really have to look. The Mojave's headlight really sucks for night riding. The 300EX would work better for that.
All in all the Mojave was $800 less than the 300EX when I bought it and has been a really good quad. I'm kind of weird in that I like the Mojave's air filter since it is a flat piece of foam that is way easier to clean than the Honda bucket shaped one. Also, contrary to the rags, I have not had any problems with it sealing out dust and dirt. It has proven to be pretty water proof as well. My old 250X would drown out way before my Mojave but that is because it had something screwy with the electrical system. The Mojave sucks its air from the handlebar/headlight area. I believe the Honda was similar but I can't remember.
Just go for the one that feels the most comfortable and the dealer that treats you the best.

Just type in "300EX versus mojave" and select the Kawasaki or Honda forums. You should find plenty of info. Or do a search under either Mojave or 300EX and you should find lots of posts on both machines.
I'd think its safe to assume that you have a Recon. You will really like either of these sport quads since they will be a nice increase in performance but still not lose that ability to putt around, explore trails, and have low maintenance.

Mojave vs 300ex
My friend has a mojave and i have a 300ex. They are both very reliable machines. Both have reverse, mojave has DOHC but 300ex has more cc's. Mojave is cheaper but i don't enjoy the ride as much. If you want to be comfortable then get a 300ex. The 300ex also can hit good size jumps just with a tightening of the suspension. Another thing which can be a good thing or bad thing, the 300ex can wheelie so good but the Mojave is hard to get up unless you pop the clutch. I can shift in my wheelies and none of my other friends with blasters, mojave, or warriors can do it. But they can do it on my quad. As for dunes, bothe are good but the 300ex is a little lighter so it will stay on top of the sand more. But the mojave is $600 cheaper. I could of gone either way but my dad personally likes Honda even though he has had 2 Kawasaki motorcycles(a 900 4 stroke and a 500 2 stroke which booted). But the 300ex has electric start.

the 300ex can wheelie so good but the Mojave is hard to get up unless you pop the clutch.
My Mojave can pull the front tires off the ground anywhere from 1st gear all the way up to 4th! The Mojave is king of wheelies! I would also have to say that my Mojave is very comfortable to ride....Big jumps........I've hit them all and have the battle scares to show it...OUCH!!! LOL
