I only did 350Km with mine because of bad mud ridding (lack of experience...I should have use the rear break instead). A bran new set of atv breake is thinner than a used set of car brake. Dond worry it took me so much time to get a good replacement set... I completly clean the pad without ripping the disc... so if you think yours are worn out, just be easy with the handle until you fing the right answer...

If the disk brakes are anything like the automotive ones they should start making a noise when they are worn out. I'm expecting to get more usage out of my disk brakes then what I got out of my drum brakes on the suzukis I used to own. I also do a lot of mud/swamp riding so time will tell. I used to have to change the drum brakes every 2 years. I've got 1000 kms as well and mine appear just fine.

there is no noises when pads are gone, the brakes will have a lot less grab and the 1/2 of the brake will do next to nothing. I replaced my font ones 3 times with 12000 km so an average of 4000. I do not use my brakes often and I constantly clean them. Also I use the heavey duty pads.

If you are looking for some good replacement pads check out EPI they carry a full line of pads some are supposed to be better for bikes that get a lot of mud action.

I dug into my front brakes today and the pad looks like its getting a little thin, maybe an 1/8 inch or so left on them so I figure I should start looking for the pads. I went to EPI's site and saw they have the standard and bigfoot pads, but not the heavy duty. Has anyone used these? How are they and how many miles are you getting with them? Thanks alot guys.

Bigfoot pads seem to be a high metalic pad, which will stop you in almost any condition, but there major downfall seems to be fast rotor wear. The metal on metal doest wear great. I have no experience with this on an ATV, But in cars this is a very common problem, Just my thoughts, If rotors are cheap and you want to stop on dimes they would be perfect, I saw heay Duty at EPI Ide try them first... Just my 2 cents Epi

I was just at EPI's site and they didnt have a p/n for heavy duty, only the standard. I'll have to check rotor pads and see their price. Anyone else have some info?

I got 800 mile out of the front brake pads on my 02 p650 and 600 miles out of the pads on my 03 p650. What kind of gas mileage are you getting I can only get 40 mile to a tank but it runs good?
