ya it looks kewl but its still pretty heavy the mountain version is going to be heavy comared to any off the other doos or polaris
well see how it performs
i read an article on the mountain one they tested it against the 700s but they said it should be more like in a class with the 600s so don't be expecting to beat the 800s unless ofcourse you mod it up lots and lighten it

yeah
I saw one a few weeks ago, mountain machine. Looks heavy, and is damn heavy the salesman said. This sled has jumped to the head of the line as far as 4 stroke sleds go.
I think the duel exhaust is cool , will look like a cruiser bike in the snow.

My neibhor has 2 of em. He has them all modded up. one is a mod trail sled the other he uses for drags. He has it so it can beat a polaris 800 in a drag so she goes pretty good. I am not sure what kind of pipes he has on it but it sure sounds sweet.

They had one at the local Honda/Yamaha shop here. The guy fired it up while I was there (electric start-----way cool). Awesome!!!! The sound of this thing is beyond compare. All the sled guys standing in the shop were reaching for their checkbooks!! Wish I had the coin to have one of them.

the rx-1 yamaha sled is a joke.it's way under powered, over wieght and they roayally got thier a$$ handed to them at the biggest snowmobile event of the year in minnesota at the haydays. 600's were spankin them like nothing.
not to mention they have been having reliability problems with them ,pat hauck blew his sled up at haydays and pulled out the trusty SRX and pissed yamaha off.cause they were paying him to race the rx-1.
and i have a friend that bought one,and he doesn't have any miles on it yet and when he starts it up it over heats right away, and the other day he started it up and turned around to let it warm up and the throttle went berzerk and the sled took off through the garage and smashed into his fridge. funny as hell.
so i'm not to impressed with them yet.
they are very sweet looking machines, and the concept is good the engineering is on target but they have some bugs to work out.

It is about 85 pounds more than the Summit 800HO. I guess it will be interesting to see what happens when the technology advances to the point where they can get the weight down, and get a little more power out of the engine. It sure looks like they are on their way.
