p650 stuck in the mud
#1
i got stuck in the mud BIGTIME trying to pull a polaris 500ho out of a mud pit. i sank like a submarine. we had to pull them both out with a pickup truck and a long cable. (i havent installed my winch yet, you know the one sitting on my shelf in the garage----aarrrrrghhh!!!!) i hooked up the cable to the front brush bar and it got bent to s#** when i pulled it out. my buddies quad got destroyed pulling it out. it went over on its side and got dragged for about 10 feet before we could upright it. what a mess. his racks and back fenders are done. anyway, should i get a factory replacement brush bar or are there any cool aftermarket bars that i can get. any help will be appreciated.

Hey jw,
I got mine into a similiar situation pulling out a Polaris 500 from a stream, I attached the tow line to my frame
and had no damage but it sure was good to burn some rubber off those crap Dunflops. What bent, the attachment point or did the guard let loose? We still have to hook up for a ride, best to wait until Deer season is over.Get a price on that
part from Kawasaki, it cant be too much. I never got a power winch, my friend tried his while the front was submerged and fried it, it appears the mount area on the 650 is too low. We'll do the gasline on mt. road and ride the tracks soon. Max

Hey Trailblazer,
See you have a Warn 2500 wnch that you have not installed as yet. I won a Warn 2500MM winch at a drawing during the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree. It is still in the box which has not been opened. I think I want to sell it. What is is worth? I gave some thought about putting it on my P650, but I don't ride in the kind of mud where I am likely to get stuck. I do most of my riding in the Hope, Arizona area and at Glamis and it don't hardly get muddy in those areas. I do some riding in Arkansas (Wolf Pen Gap) and Colorado in the Poudre Canyon area and at the dunes and trails near Waldron.

I live in North Texas and after riding in those areas, Texas doesn't hold much appeal.

I think the OEM brush guard was about $70 as I recall.
Moose Utilities sells some beefy aftermarket ones for less than $130... Part MUD7403 and MUD4769

Hello GeeBee,
I am a new p650 owner with 6 hrs. on my machine. I think it is awesome and it makes me feel a little younger (58 yrs. young). Especially sharing rides with my two college age sons and stories with my high school students.
I live in Rhode Island and went to school at North Texas State in Denton. I noticed you live in North Texas so I wanted to say hi. I use to play in their big band program--all that jazz! All my friends in college would refer to me as the yankee!
Enjoy your 650 and "you come back now!"

Hi atvdad,
I know you are enjoying your new P650. Strongly suggest you install the EPI black KSS3 spring and adjust belt deflection to it's minimum value or maybe a little less. You will be much happier with the durability of the belt if you do so. Go to nyroc's website for pictures and instructions on how to do this. It is a fairly simple job.
BTW, after seeing North Texas, what could possibly get you back to Rhode Island
