Why can't I chat?
 

I've tried and tried. I've downloaded the software, too. No luck. I get a screen that says "Now chatting in #atving". Then there is a tip to increase the chat window. Says to press the float button. There is no float button. Then there is a box to change me nickname and that's it. Nothing else. What's wrong?

I haven't tried the new chat but when I tried it in the past a long time ago it said I was banned.

Just downloaded the software...I had to enter my nickname three times, and then I was in.

Dang!! well, I'm thinkin this is the kind of stuff dbeck is wondering about as the kinks get worked out. Are you sure the software downloaded all the way? It's an awful big file.

AOL users can't chat because Adam Miller is an AOL user and he caused AOL to be banned due to his abuses. We need a few thousand people to call and talk to his father, Doug at 248-627-5067 (work) or mother, Sue, at 248-627-8243 (home) and ask why thousands of AOL users should be prevented from chatting because they won't make their son stay out of our chat room.

Anyone not on AOL can chat and I'll help get you in the chat room. Stebob....you didn't download the software....you're talking about the web chat which is something different. To use the web chat you need to make sure your web browser is Internet Explorer and a fairly current version. If you still have problems, use the download link to download atvchat.exe and install that software. You'll like it better than the web chat anyway.

OK, well I guess that explains why I was banned, I am running through AOL at present.

After it said I was banned I just stuck to the forum and it has been most enjoyable place to hang out.

I did actually download the atvchat.exe. I did it twice. It downloads and I install it and nothing happens. Is this still because I'm on AOL? Is there anyway AOL will be allowed back in to chat?
