Default Bayou 220 question

I just bought a used 02 bayou 220 for my daughter. The quad runs excellent except that it has a "hammering" noise at idle.I cant determine exactly where its coming from but it seems low and in the front of the motor.Ive played with the idle adjust carb screw, and it can be idled up enuff that the hammering goes away. But its real hard to shift into any gear without creeping.Anyone have any ideas?I hope its nothing major. Also are the headlight bulbs offered in an automotive numbered bulb. Thanks again.

I think that noise is normal. My wife has a 1999 bayou 220. She is the only rider and has never been in 4th gear. When the quad is hot it gets louder. I put 20w 50 in mine.
