1996 bayou 400
#1
I'm having a prob with a bayou 400 after doing the top end. I only changed the rings, gaskets, valve seals. The piston looked good. After putting it back together it
started right away but it won't rev without coughing and sputtering. It idles perfectly. If I give it half choke it works good. Without the choke it won't rev. I originally did
not touch the carb but after it wouldn't rev I took the carb apart. Nothing seems to be wrong. I cleaned it out with compressed air. The cv boot on the carb looks good.
The kaw dealer looked at the carb and said it is ok. The timing has been checked numerous times now. Had the carb apart 5 times. We redid the whole top end just to
make sure we got everything right. The piston is pointing in the correct position. It seems like a carb prob but can't seem to find anything wrong with it. THe kaw dealer
set everyting back to specs and it didn't change a thing. It started instantly but still will not rev up without hesitation. All the vents on the carb are clear. I'm out of ideas.
Anyone have an idea?
