Dont be fooled, the Lakota is suprisingly fast especially in the trails, its amazing. I can run with anyone in the trails.
To flip the front wheels you have break the bead on the tires then you have to pull out the vaulve stems and glue the caps on with superglue then flip them around. Then you have to drill a 7/16 hole on the other side and install new vaulve stems. Air up to reset the beads, then put the right air in. Check the forum, thiers lots of info here. I did have a little trouble though. When I fliped my wheels the inverted stems rubed to much so I had to cut half of the back off. I also had to file down two fins on each break caliper. It handles Sooooo much better!!!!!!!
I havent done any engine mods yet, but every on says to put the Super Trap IDS 2 exhaust on and a K&N air filter on it, dont forget to rejet it. Also put a 13 tooth sprocket on. Thats a real good start!
You can find just about every thing you want on rockymoutainatv.com.
I have beat'n 300ex's, 250ex's, blasters, even mojave's. Maybe itts just the way I ride, but I've done it!!!
and thats stock.

Hey, Hey 14!! Nah....I won't be making it to FSWII. However, I'm anxious to hear all about it right here. Sounds like the Rappy is just a mover these days.

Unless you buddy is close to, as good, or a better rider than you, you will not be able to hang. If it is tight trails, you can, but anything else and you might as well just enjoy the ride. My buddy has a 400EX, the only reason I can outrun him in a lot of situations, is rider abililty, not to brag, but it's the truth.

Same way with me. I can put my 16 year old cousin on my 400ex and I can beat him every time with my Lakota. He rides good but I gues I ride better. When I am on my 400 I destroy him. People can say what they want to about how much horse power they have but the fact is three things matter, how big your b@lls are, how far you are willing to push the envelope, and how well you ride what you got!! I've always liked the underdog and I get way more satisfaction out of beating quads I shouldent be beating. I run a stock 02 Lakota Sport KEF 300 and I have beat'n 250ex's, 300ex's, blasters, 250 trail blazers, a couple of waroirs, lots and lots of utilitys, the odd 400ex, and 1 very modifyed raptor.
Its how you ride man!
Horse power is great but if you cant control it does you no good!!
Learn to ride what you got the best it can be riden and mod the he// out of it and you will beat him. This thing is fast!!!!!!!
Take it from someone who has raced bikes all of his life.

hey murpheyslaw have you ever thought of replacing the steel heel guards with aluminum ones? I have found some on www.justatv.com By the way, which model of renthal bars do you have on the lakota? I'm thinking of replacing mine, just didn't know renthal made a size that fits the lakota stuff.

The only thing that i did to loose weight on my mojave is,

no heel guards
parking break block off
got rid of the bulky clutch
factory 909 bars (lighter)
no mud flaps or mount
going to shave fenders next
