Default Prairie time????

Hey guys....well if u look at any of the other posts u will see ive posted in suzuki and polaris recently. im in a dilemna. i think im just a typical atv nut and i am bout to lose my girl over it! oops!! so i gotta talk to people who understand talkin' bout wheelers!!
one day i really wanted the vinson 500 auto, the next day the sportsman 500HO...but the more i think about it im thinkin i want to grab an 03 prairie 650. i keep all my old mags and the prairie has won every shootout i have read. prairie owners, how has the reliability been on ur's???? i've heard of nothin bad bout them. i see the one guy got his for a good price 6400 OTD. that's good.
well, any input on the prairie's would be appreciated. i like the straight axle for sport ridin' and i also will love the power so i can whip my buddy on his griz!!
thanks in advance.
also, whats up w/the gold trim and wheels this year??? not too sure im keen on that yet but it'll grow on me. the last prairie i had was the 300 air cooled 2000.

I'v been riding a bouyu(spelling?) 220 since '89. Kawasaki has sure been a reliable brand. When I decided that I had grown out of the old 220(still running by the way), I got the p650. It is just as awesome as those articles in all of our magazines said and still say it is. I did the same shopping around as you have but came back to the p650 at the end of the day. Glad I did. It runs awesome, no hesitation, great power,etc.. This is a machine that I will have for years. Very quiet too compared to it's closest competitors. Do yourself a favor and buy the p650. You'll love it!

My Friend has had his 650 for about 1 year now and it is one hell of a machine, has been very reliable, no problems what so ever except for squeeling belt but that is now fixed thanks to the magic "black spring" he rides it several times a day fast and hard and its still working like the day he bought it, If I had the money I would definatly buy the 650. Sure some people have had problems just like people have problems with Hondas and Polaris, it happens to the best of brands, but you should definatly consider the 650, you wont be dissapointed.!

i absolutely love mine, i agree the tan wasnt the greatest choice for racks and such, i think the silver looked much better. as far as probs. the black trim plastic is weak, i had a minor dent in mine the second time i had it out

Howdy,
I have had mine for over a year & a half. I had the belt adjusted at 1500 miles. Other than a piece of the black plastic missing it has been trouble free! I previously had a 300 Honda and thought it was trouble free but the 650 is just as good. I still havent been beaten by another 4X4. It has been in rack deep water with not a hiccup. I dont think you can go wrong with a 650. By the way I paid $6147 out the door in Pasadena, Texas. Have a goodun!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks guys....that black plastic seems to be a major issue for the kawi, however, it is actually a minor one compared to what other atver's complain of on their bikes.
preciate all the input. maybe, just maybe, i can be back out on the trail on a new quad shortly.

It's the best purchase I have ever made. I was considering the new Kodiak 450, but decided to go bigger. After alot of research, I have a much better machine with alot more everything. If I were to get a midsize monster though, it would be the Kodiak. The Prairie is the best of all the big dogs. My buddy just bought the Kodiak, and boy am I glad I have the Prairie.
