Don't know. If you've been in alot of snow and some sucked into the belt compartment, the primary clutch could be frozen and sticking in against the belt. You said it started again? Why is the battery dead now?

Get a set of jumper cables and hook it up to your vehicle and or put it in a heated garage to warm it up if the belt is frozen. I doubt it though, the CVT trans should have created enough heat to warm it up and evap the snow. I have never had that problem even when I am plowing. Plus with it in nuetral it shouldn't be a factor. Maybe it was just Flooded.

Mine has done something similar to this a few times where it would not start again. I was reading on a forum that sometime the key on the fender is not all the way in the run position. It is on enought to make the dash, etc come on but not enough for the ignition system.

is there a, i think this is the word, decompression switch on it for pull starting it. My friends bayou 300 had one and was impossible to pull start without it.

I think it is supposed to havve an automatic de-compression, maybe it takes battery power to work.

The auto-decomp doesn't need battery power to run. A 650 in the wintertime cold would start like a diesel engine with a pull cord. As Monte SS said - try to boost it. If it starts, leave the booster cables hooked up for a couple of minutes. If you were plowing and using the winch to run the plow, your battery may have gotten too low for the electronics to run properly.

Have any of you bothered to try to start the twin with that foolish ripcord when everything is running right? Its still very hard!!!
It mat be a better idea to remove the battery and recharge it rather than using a vehicle to jump start it. It is possible to damage your electronics by getting a boost.
