Lakota mods

Just a couple of questions for the Lakota gurus.
First, who makes the best aluminum swingarm skid plate for the Lakota Sport?
Second, the $ 300.00 in upgrades that some have recommended: jet kit, air filter, muffler and sprocket. Is it really worth the $$$, making that much of a difference?

If your going to keep the quad for any length of time then you definitly want to do the mods, it really makes a difference in performance. If you are going to be selling or trading the Lakota anytime soon I would probably leave it stock, just because you would probably get more money for it. I have no regrets doing the mods to my Lakota, but I will be selling it probably in about 4-6 months for something else so I have stopped adding anything else to it. The Lakota can be made to go fairly fast, but it does have its limitations because of its wieght. It all depends how much you want to put into it, but standard mods are worth it for performance.

The factory Kawasaki Team Green skid plate and Moose are good.
As far as the mods, definatly worth it! For $300 you get a whole new bike. The lakota is a good quad but it still has a little utility in its blood. For fairly cheep you can turn this good, but avarege 4-wheeler into something special, a sport ,not a sport utility!! Do it, it screams, it will put you on a whole new level!!
Also you will want to change at least the back tires. And flip your fronts.

Thanks for your reply guys, I've had my Lakota for a little over a year. Bought it new as a 2001 left over, really enjoy riding it, that is when I get to ride it. We have a few places in our area to ride, one is a rough area, then there's finding someone responsible/decent to ride with...

Thanks, already on it Lisa G, I presently have a bid on a SuperT. IDS2, hopefully it will work out. I already have the 13t primary sprocket.
Is the SuperT. IDS2 much louder than the stock muffler? Also, do yall prefer the K&N filter, Twin Air or the Uni-Filter?

With the mods, do you run into any problems running in dirt and wet enviroments? Especially with the K&N filter? Last thing I need is to get a bunch of crap in the engine during a long dry day on a dirt track.

Jasp,
The only time water is going to make any difference with these mods. is if you replace the stock airbox with a pod filter. Doing all of the mods. listed will not hender it's performance in water, or anything else, in fact, it will improve due to the new found power.
Yes! Go for the mods. No question. In addition to all of the above, don't forget about the snorkel cap under the cowl. It's quite the air restrictor.
