I am looking at a 1988 250 mohave. The buyer wants about $2000. Any advice and is the bike worth that much? I was thinking more along the lines of $1300-$1500.

Did you see this mojave yet? I don`t want to tell you it`s not worth that much because I don`t know what cond. it is in but I would think that is too much for an 1988 I payed $1800 for my 95 it did need some work though.Unless it is in great cond. with some nice mods on it I would try to find a newer model for that price.

$2000 is a good price if it is in good condition. I just sold my sister's 1987 Mojave that was in good condition for $1850

Just to give you an idea, I payed $2300 for one (brand new) back in 87, and sold it for $1400 in 1990 (and it was in great shape).

Thanks for the input, I'm in no hurry to buy one. Just need to hit the trails asap.

Even in great condition the price seems pretty steep for a quad that hasen`t changed in years. Price some others out before you decide. You can find a good BLaster for that price and theres tons more aftermarket products offered.GOOD LUCK

I've owned an 1987 250 Mojave for many years now, originally purchased in 92 for $1800 I believe. Runs fine, in decent shape, and I've had offers today for 1500-1800.

In my opinion, if it's in sound mechanical shape, it's worth up to 1800 easy. Plastic can be replaced easy and fairly cheaply.

Just ensure the frame, A-Arms, etc. are straight and the bike drives / runs fine.
