It actually says in my manual that you should mark the sheaves so that they go back together the same way. If some of you have already had things apart and back together without any ill effects then it may not be a big deal. I am just very particular about my $10,000 toys and thought it may matter.
Kepp up the good work NYROC I know we all appreciate it.

HI GUY'S;
When I took mine apart, I noticed little green marks on the edge of the sheaves (like marker) I don't know why they were there...but they were not very brite, and you had to look for them...but make no mistake they were there. I simply lined these up when I put it back together.

I think the only reason they tell you to mark your sheaves when you take it apart, is so that those four little pin grooves will be lined up when you put it back together. The sheaves have to be balanced independant of each other in order for the clutch to not vibrate at speed. I have taken my clutch apart three times and have not put any reference marks on it for putting it back together. No vibration at all.

Mastrblastr,

I have to agree with you, if you think about it the belt is held by half of the sheaves at any one time. So there will be pressure exurted on one side and the opposite pressure on the other side of the sheave causing a twisting motion. This twisting force is going to force the sheaves to be all kittywanka anyway so what ever balance was there isn't going to matter anywho. Just my thoughts seems to make sense.

Alltoys you have a good point. The sheaves do not line up when they start to seperate so I guess it doesnt matter.
On another note can you define kittywanka....

I'm suprised they don't have alignment arrows like on the primary clutch.
