Default twin air filter or k&n

This is what another guy told me, I just bought a used p 650 last week it came with a K+N. He said he thought the power difference was about the same on each one. He has both. He uses the K+N primarily in winter and the twin air in summer. He says the twin air is better at catching dust an other debris, the K+N is a little thinner filter.

I just drilled out the entire front of my airbox, and he suggested I get a twin air for summer. I have not seen the twin air personally or had experience with it, but this guy usually knows what he's doing.
