Default P650 fuse

I was on a camping trip and plugged on of those air mattress pumps into my P650 to air the mattress up. I blew the fuse immediately. If Has anyone placed a heavier fuse or know how big a fuse can safely be used? I know it is designed for a 5A fuse, but assume that there's a considerable safety margin in that.

EXACT same thing happened to me last summer. I installed a 10A fuse. Haven't burnt up my bike ...yet! Seriously, a 10A works fine.

I blew my acc fuse using a pump and had to put spare fuse in . i will change it this weekend as the spare is a ten amp. You can buy a circuit breaker that plugs into the ATO type fuse and it will reset itself , i have not tried them in quad but put one in my truck. Works fine.

PraireTwin, mine main20 amp blew when I was driving once and it stopped so quick it threw me from my bike. It turned out to be a faulty warn wench cable.

The manual says the fuse is a 4 amp, but mine was a 5 amp. I replaced mine with a 7.5 amp to run my hand and thumb warmers. So far no problems.
