red650 - where did you buy the frequency modulator, and when powered up does it affect anything else, such as 4x4 engagement speed limiter? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Red650,

Lets see if I have this right, the generator must speed up the chip thereby enhancing the timeing curve does this sound right. Can the generator stay in circuit all the time or is there a shut off at any time involved in the circuit say 15 seconds to be exact? Any more helpful hints you have <IMG src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>

red650, one more question - will the speedometer still work with the modulator powered up?

Doesn't the wiring diagram show the speed sensor wire going to the CDI, Speedo, and KEBC/4x4 module. Couldn't we chop the one going to the CDI and connect this freq gen thing and fool the CDI into thinking we were going 25mph and leave the real sensor plugged into the speedo and KEBC?

I think I remember this, but don't have a book here with me.

Possible, but you might still get an upstream effect.
