Default Question for P 650 folks

I did the black spring about 100-150 miles ago and removed all shims since belt was very loose I know that I have read that it would squeek in idle for a while, how long does it take for it to quit?

I love the performance, but hate the looks from the grizzly and polaris people when they shake their head at my "loose" belt.

IF the sqeak is real loud it is too tight. I know this is asking a lot but you should of checked your defection. A small squeal is OK but a loud one may cause you a groove in your drive faces that can affect shifting later on.

Take a few minutes and take the cover off and check the deflection I highly recommend this as a clutch is an expensive thing to replace.

ConMan;

Did you put the black spring on yourself, maybe your belt got put on backwards, there is an arrow on it that should point to the front of the machine, the writing on the belt should be facing you so you can read it.

I've seen people put them on backwards and they squeel really bad.

Conman

Be sure and use a weight scale to measure the deflection. I think it was 13lbs of pressure on belt. I tried using my finger to push it down and got it way to tight.
