700 questions answered!

I just got in my first ride on my new KFX700. I bought it sight unseen two months ago after reading about it in Dirt Wheels' new product section. I made the right choice! The machine is scary fast with no mods. It sounds throaty and has gobs of torque. I didn't experience any of the Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word ling complaints from this month's Dirt Wheels test ride. Is the front end too light? No, not if you know how to handle the power. Does the belt lag on take-off? No, it hooks right up and launches you. Does it freewheel downhill? No, not if you blip the gas now and then. Is it too heavy? No, but I guess I don't push my ATVs- I ride 'em.
I am happy for all the "real men clutch" riders out there and the guys that bring brand loyalty to the point of obsession. But I am getting a little sick of the trashing the 700 gets because some riders wouldn't opt for an auto clutch or shaft drive. And just because my machine shifts for me doesn't mean I don't know how (this is NOT a beginner's bike). I'm a 245 pound 6'2" tall man, and I need a big machine with big power. The small framed bikes made for tight race tracks don't offer me enough room. I will be using the 700 for long trail rides and cross county touring. I will be adding (don't laugh) a rear rack and a speedo/tach/odometer computer.
If you are thinking of buying one and have questions, or you trail ride in the Duluth Superior area, please Email me.

bring your V-Force to our ride on April 5th in the Nemadji State Forest. We'll be dropping off at the bar in Nickerson and hitting the trails from there at 9 a.m.
I'm hoping to get my Baja this weekend. This is our 3rd year on this ride for the opening weekend. If you have any questions, e-mail me at Lone_eagle7mm@Yahoo.com
