Default V-force out-jumps Raptor

Had a chance to do some jumping with a modified Raptor this weekend. The jump had about a 8 foot sloped takeoff and slowly tappered off to it's end about 30-35 feet. The Raptor had a stock rear suspension with Works performance triple rated steelers on the front. The V-Force was completly stock and easily outjumped the Raptor by ten feet or more. And landed much more evenly and smoothly. The Raptor was decent but seemed nose heavy and landed about 10-15 feet shorter than the V-Force. Honest observation. Also the Raptor seemed hesitant to want to anything more than drag race. Raptor- Fast, yes. Overall versatility- needs work.

Are you sure that it was not just rider ability? The Raptor has great jumping ability and I am sure that the v-force does as well. I have just noticed that in cases like this it is usually a rider ability issue more than a bike capability problem.

Glad you feel comfortable launching your v-force, I still struggle to jump that far on a quad. Dirt bike = no prob - I can do 50 ft or better. Quad = <shudder>

You are right. The "rider" in question doesn't have alot of ability but I think it was the uncertainty of the bike that makes him that way. No offense GV.

So you are stating the V-force was generating more speed...allowing the machine too jump further? Physics tells us that if the Raptor and the V-force are launched at the same speed, the Raptor will jump slightly further since it weights less.

these results vs. the raptor are impossible to avoid. No reason to spell out the obvious. The Vforce has no real competion. Compare the raptor to something else.

PS: my Audi A4 will smoke a ford fiesta but I don't tell people about it...

Don't even acknoledge this post, it is just an attept by STecate925 to save face after getting out here and saying how he was going to beat me on the drag strip........no more, no less.

I will be the first to say that Stecate925 has a lot more track experience than I do, and does jump farther than me. Whatever.......

I was just jumping in 2nd gear with half the approach that they had. Why you might ask?? Because I do not have the confidence jumping as he does. My Raptor has the capability to jump a lot further, as soon as I am comfortable with doing it, it will jump further.

This is crazy...

The V-force is cool and certainly unique but, it cannot be claimed to be the ultimate power weapon. There is only 50cc diff between the Raptor/DS from the v-force and they have large weight advantages over it. The V-Force is a great go fast at the dunes and open trails bike that will appeal to the guy who typically likes the utility quad but wants a 'play bike'.

It will be interesting to see what the mods can do with the V-force but, I personally think that the auto tranny will turn out to b e a limitation on performance.

2stroke- I used to have a 1979 ford fiesta that would run. At the time i was able to buy 2 tires for the front for 70 dollars. They were 175/60/12 That was a fun car to pull the emercency brake up at 80mph. I was a donut machine lol. Cars were3 slow back then compared to those today
