i paid off my 01 prairrie 400 4x4 and i was trying to get a title from the credit company. they sent me a notarized release of lein and i have a bill of sale from when i bought it from the dealer. my question is .. do titles exist for four wheelers? does it matter by what state you live in? thanks in advance for any replies.

 

No title in this state, just a certificate of registration.

The certificate of registration works pretty much like a title. If you loose it, it take paperworfk to get another one. also, if you loose it, it is real hard for the buyer to get it registered.

At least, that is how things are in this state (NY).

Nobody move to NY. This state stinks. I hate it. I wanna move out. I realize it was a sad day when they attacked our country a year and a half ago, but they had the right idea about nailing the big apple. That place is a money sink. It draws a lot of taxes, money, and blood from the rest of the state.

When you make remarks like "but they had the right idea about nailing the big apple" it gives some creditablity to their actions. It's unbelievable to me how quickly we all (myself included) tend to forget how many thousands of people had their lives ruined by these insane madmen. I know you are right. I'm sorry for the insensitivity. I could just move to a better state if I don't like it. It just gives me a bitter taste in my mouth thinking about the inequality going on in this state. We don't get any of our tax money. We pay some of the highest taxes in the country and have crappy schools on tight budgets among other under funded organizations. What a joke.

Guess who is our Governor? I'm so embarassed about this state I won't even say the name.

 

My state, Ohio, has titles just like any other motor vehicle that is operated on public highways.
