Questions About Mojave Cam And CDI Mod.
#1
I'm looking for more power from my Mojave. I'm running aftermarket exhaust and replaced the factory airbox with a clamp-on filter. I beleive the next logical step is to add a cam and remove the rev-limiter. Does anyone know if White Brothers still makes a cam for the Mojave? If not, has anyone tried the Web all around grind or race grind? I've read in previous post that Mickey Dunlap of FST can remove the rev-limiter from a stock Mojave CDI. Anyone have the telephone number? Anybody have preferences on heavy duty valve springs?

The phone number for Four Stroke Tech is 814-842-6159. Mickey does remove the rev-limiter for $85.00. I have billet cams from megacycle. They are race grind similiar to those offered by web. I dont have the phone number handy for megacycle though but I do believe they have a website www.megacyclecams.com. As far as valve springs go check out www.powroll.com and they had a set of heavy duty springs with titanium retainers for $55.00 in there garage sale section. Hope this helped.

If you can afford it get a klr 250 cdi instead of removing the rev limiter. It has no rev limit and has a better advance curve that will be beneficial if you run bigger cams. The 380 lift cam is probably the best choice but you will need a spring kit. You can get the stuff from Web, FST, or CWR. CWR specializes in Mojaves and stocks three different grinds of cams for them. Their # is 717-637-1907 they also have the klr 250 cdi and much more Mo stuff.

Thanks for the information. Does it matter what year the KLR250 CDI comes from? After reading previous posts, it looks like the wiring must be changed to be used on the Mojave. Does anyone remember what changes have to be made? Also, I'm curious how much hp will I gain by going with a race grind? Is it worth the investment?
This is a little off the subject but I noticed mentalmojave is running suspension setup similar to what I'm going for. I recently purchased a 250r rear shock and Works for the front. I've read that the 250r shock will fit if I grind off the spacers on the swingarm. Since the 250r shock is for a link type suspension the part of the shock that bolts to the swingarm is different. Is it necessary to put a bushing/bearing of some sort through the holes to keep it from wearing?
