Default 700 - All That

Big Dealership in Northern Utah had a change in management and had a big grand opening (Wasatch Recreation/Vesco's). I am looking for a Z/KFX400 to compliment my P650...what i mean by that is a little jumper and sand machine to play with when i need time away from climbing, mudding and the truly technical stuff that Kaw 650 thrives in.

Rode the 400 a couple of times and loved its handling and spunk up until the high end (this can change quick with good Mods)...was going to purchase one pending the deal the guy gave me at this grand opening. He had a V-Force 700 their and said take it for a spin. There was three of us so we each took a bike ... v-force, kfx400 and raptor. We went out and the guy watched us go behind some buildings and the fun began.

That 700 Kaw is everything they say it is. Factory jetted lean the thing lacked a tad on top end...first thing I would fix. But it had very good torque and smoked the holeshot ... we were back there wheeling it left and right...thing handled great and every little hump we found we lauched it...very solid and comfortable in the air. Now the time on the Rappie was limited and didnt really do anything great with it...but you really didnt take notice of it until it got going and entered fourth gear...once their the bike did come alive however...but you know the feeling you get once you ride a quad and it gives you the "THIS IS IT" feeling...the Kaw gave me that feeling. So much to the point I went back and couldnt seal the deal on the 400...400 was a solid quad and handled like a dream...but i was overwhelmed by that V-Force...bad thing is i rode the Rappy, then the V-Force and onto the 400. I will not part with my prairie...who I thought was the low end torque master until today...but the P650 does so much so well...once the wow of the v-force wheres off I will probably go back and get the 400...but I want a far better deal on it now :-)

Again, bikes were not on a real technical platform...but you don't have to be...ride that Kaw 700 and you will see what I am talking about...if I was after a big bore sport quad it would already be in the garage...I was that impressed.

Also, the area Kawi rep was there and looks like the next new Kawi quad may be a 500 sport/ute ... they believe they have to big a gap between the 650 and 360. Locker looks to be a given with the major discussion being the suspension...Kawi doesnt really like IRS (indenpendent) because of the weight it adds and the loss of some of its machines stability...doesnt look like they are going to mess with the prairies suspension either...so those wanting an IRS prairie might be out of luck. They like how the KFX 400/700/mojave fills out their sports quads...they are looking to get more aggressive with the pricing of their entry level quads as well...Just general discussion but thought i would share. If you are debating on a sport quad you have yet to test the V-Force... test the 700 for your own piece of mind...dont let those "its automatic so it cant be a sports quad" discourage you. I watched 5-7 guys ride that 700 and everyone jumped off it going WOW. One guy even stated...never thought i would see that in an automatic. Gotta love that V-TWIN
