how fast in low?

Mine is tacking out at about 42mph in low now.
It used to run a bit faster in low, but not after the tires and springs it doesn't. Just gets there a lot faster.
Running 28 inch tires, measuring 28.5 inches in height and have black/red clutch springs in. Took a few mph off the top speed in low. But it was worth it. I'd rather get to 42mph really fast, than get to 45-49mph not quite as quickly.

Wow guys! I don't even run it up to 30 in low range. Can you safely go at these speeds in low? I have seen a Polaris Xplorer 400 2 stroke blow because it was over-revved in low.

If I'm going to sustain speeds of 30 or higher for any period, i'm always in High. Anything under, I use low. I'd think going much over 30 would rev the engine unecessarily high...

nah, not at all lightman... I believe Kawi set the rev limiter at what? 6500rpm? or was it lower... If I'm not mistaken the new CDI is gonna raise it to 8000rpm? Correct me if I'm wrong, I may be.
The only time I'm in high is if I'm racing or trying to get somewhere real fast. Any other time, I'm in low. Which is about 99% of the time.

The pre-production motor was turned to 12,000 rpm with no problem's, The new CDI will keep the factory redline that Kaw set. 8900 rpm, it never get's there because of the timing retard, it sound's like it's reving hard now in low but don't worry, you are nowhere near the blow point and plus this overhead cam motor likes to rev to make it's power.........
