Default KFX700 fuel tank is empty

I love my new V Force!
It's awesome, fast and perfect in almost every way except for fuel consumption.
Why does it only hold 3.2 gallons? I burn that up in less than two hours.
And while I we are talking about fuel, does anyone else dislike the fuel tank's filler
location? I had to make an extension for my fuel can's filler hose to prevent spills, and even after this, fuel goes everywhere. The rear grab bar is at fault.

Are there aftermarket fuel tanks for the 700?
Any (safe) ideas to carry a spare fuel supply?

And no, easing off the throttle is NOT an option

two reasons, weight and no dual exchaust if the tank was the size of the p650.

I hear you!!. After running sleds with 45 litre tanks (11-12 gals) 3.2 gals takes a bit getting used to. I ordered a PRM 6 pac rack which can hold another 3 gal can. Depends on where you ride. For the sand hills, I will pack in a larger tank and then leave it at one of the drop locations we have. If we are going a to b style riding then 3 gals is all you want to haul if it is going to be strapped to your rac for 1/2 the day.

I hear you brother I've almost ran out twice and always before I think I'am even close to being out of gas. Dirt wheels had an aftermarket thing on the KFX700 and IMS roll design had some things already made and one of them was a fuel tank that would hold 4.5 gallons. I think it was the January 2003. I tried their web site but no luck, If you hear anything let us know because theres alot of us not to far from the truck for now.

I think that the best way for you to take extra fuel along is to invite a friend with a utility quad. Then you can ask them to carry a container of gas. Then you don't have to concern yourself with the sloshing around. They probably have a grab bar out that fits a can of gas (Like the 6 pack rack) for if you ride alone or can't convince anyone to carry the container.

The six-pack rack might be an option, does anyone know if one would fit on the stock V Force?
The larger (4.5 gal) fuel tank is standard on the prairie 650 and I saw the Dirt Wheels (January 2003) write up with the IMS Roll Design "Dry Break" fuel tank ... um ... sounds expensive ... but cool.

Has anyone else found the fuel fill cap to be placed incorrectly?
Has anyone replaced their stock tank with either IMS aftermarket or a stock prairie fuel tank?

Thanks for the responses ...

I NOTICED THE FUEL CONSUMPTION WAS A PROBLEM AS WELL. I WENT THRU MY FIRST TANK PRETTY QUICKLY. LUCKILY WHEN I GO RIDING WITH MY WIFE OUT OF STATE, SHE WILL BE ON HER SPORTSMAN 700 AND CAN TAKE ALONG PLENTY OF EXTRA FUEL. FOR ANY OF THE UTILITY QUAD OWNERS OUT THERE, TRY THE FLAT FUEL PACKS FOR YOUR QUADS. I HAVE 2 OF THEM AND THEY WORK WELL....

Right on mudder! she's a gas hawg! Mine gets better every ride, but i sure thought i was gonna have to use my camelback hose to siphon some gas from a buddy at Hatfield McCoy this weekend.
I've got about 40 hours now and on our last ride I used 2.4 gallons to make a 21 mile run. I was at WFO out of every corner the whole way though. The 'dale i was trying to keep up with used .9, a warrior behind me used 1.3.
That filler cap location really sucks.
