Default odd noise

when i push my 650 by hand there is an odd noise that is comeing from the area where axle goes into the transmission on the left side. when i first take off it will make a high pitched sound almost like its wineding down (going 5mph then letting off gas) when i push it the sound sounds like rubber rubbing against rubber. once the oil is warmed up it will quit, but if i leave it set for 5min. and push it it will start up again. i checked the oil and i didnt loose any. is this normal? bad seal? thanks for any help

I'm thinking there's two things, first are you pushing in neutral? 4wd? as for the rubber sound it could be one of your boots are off. The high pitched sound could be your clutch slipping.

i am pushing it in neutral 2wd w/o the engine running. if i put my ear right up against where the axle and transmission meet you can tell its comeing from there, i can also feel it slightly vibrate. ill check the boots tommorow. its not as loud as the belt slipping i also just had the belt tightened.

is there play in the axle? it sure doesn't sound normal. Is like a bad engine brake bearing noise? try pulling from the front so it rules out your spensio nosies.
