Hey guys this thing sounds BAD. but HMF told me to rejet it with 135 and a 142. does the 135 jet go into the front carb and the 142 goes in the rear carb? also It back fires when I let off the gas at high speeds, is this a air screw job or is this the pipe design?

rear carb needs larger jet than front ... runs hotter.

I have HMF pipes on three pikes now..... love um. You need to balance the air and fuel to the new
volume of air flow. You would have to do that with any exhaust system that encreases air flow.

I was also wondering if it was the air screw since I have the same backfiring on my Dual system.

Thinking about this .... isn't the 135/142 the stock sizes ???????? I am sure it is ...

I am thinking you need to move the 142 from the rear to the front carb.... and then put a
145 in the rear unit. ..... you need more gas .... and then a little more air.

Or install a dial-a-jet system .............. I did both for the dual system ... no poping ... no
hesitations ... just smooth POWER !

I bought a dial a jet for my V-Force but my dealer could not figure out where to install it, where on your carbs did you install the V-Force. Is it on the boot before the manifold. Thanx

Stuck them right through the boots ... used a little metal bracket they provided to fasten the inductor jet to the
floor of the air box.... kinda formed a "V" alignment.... very approbiate I thought

stock main's are 135 front 140 rear, I think they may have gave you the wrong jet's, you need one size up, actually the 650 stock jets are what you need 138 front 142 rear, also look under the seat and see how many turns out the air screw's need to be stock, then turn them 1/2 turn more than is recommended and you should be rich enough.... I'm betting though when you turn them in to seat they won't even be what the factory call's for every stock 650 I have set has been 2 turn's out from the seated position, and it calls for 2 1/4 turns out, they work best stock at 2 1/2 turns out, so I'm saying with your pipe, if the spec call's for example 1 1/2 turn's out, make sure they are 2 full turn's out, if it call's for 2 then make sure they are 2 1/2 etc. etc.......PS you said you got the slip-on so you don't need quite as rich as the full dual's, try the 138/142 and the air screw's 1/2 turn richer than stock and let us know how it does.....
