Scooter: didn't mean to diss the post, just found it. I'd be up for a ride some time. I usually ride in a park about 25 miles west of cheyenne. There's a few downsides as there is no off-road riding, true for most state parks in Wyoming, and no real trails set up for quads. All the actual trails are hiking/pedal bike riding only. On the plus side the forestry dept. likes to put biiiig speed bumps on all but the main roads to slow down cars. So trucks are cruising at 10mph to keep damage down, we run at about 45-50mph and flyyyyyy. And there are many places to top out the quad. I really should trade for a v-force or something, my poor prairie is 99% sport and 1% utility during hunting season. But I just love the fact that I can do both. I actually managed to use my winch this winter, but only to pull my buddy's DS and raptor out of the snow. Admitedly I could have used my strap and saved a bunch of time, but it was the first opportunity I had to use the winch and couldn't pass it up. I'd probably kill myself on an actual technical trail. We did some steep hill climbs on the same trip. DS made it up on his 3rd try, almost wrecked twice. Raptor made it 1/2 way and got to bouncing so much he had to stop, and almost rolled sideways when he tried to re-position. Would have taken a nice tumble if me and my Mr. DS hadn't given some weight to the uphill side. I cruised on past in 4WL. Couldn't figure out what all the excitement was about!
Just to go on about how great (I think) the prairie is... My DS buddy is mucho stubborn, thinks his bike is best all around. Even took it elk hunting once, don't know what he was thinking. But you could see he had 2nd thoughts after I let him ride mine. My raptor buddy took mine for about 10 minutes to play with the last time we were out. He came back and was really impressed. He says, "man that think fly's. I mean it's fast and everything, but I jumped it and it really fly's." He was giving serious thought to trading his raptor. He told me he was basically kicking himself for buying a sport quad, since he like to hunt, works land for a living, and his bikes only good for play. As opposed to the prairie which does everything.

We ride all over, typically I am riding with my boys in the mountains around north Denver, but we ride up at Pawnee Grasslands all winter also. I'll let you know next time we are heading north andn see if you'd like to meet us.

Ok, just pulled my jets. I live at about 6150 feet, according to the maps. The bike was jetted in Laramie, which is 7200 feet, and the park I generally ride is +/- 8000 feet. So why in the hell I'm I jetted for 10k? 130/132. No wonder I felt lean. And I don't seem to have a 140 jet, didn't show up with my order and isn't even on the receipt. I'm positive I ordered 3 jets, a 138, 140 and 142. I decided to try Wolley's combo so I went and bought a 135 locally. Only twice the price of what I ordered the other for. That personal touch really does mean so much. But I still don't have a 140. I think I'm going to try 135/142 and see what happens.
And of course I dropped one of the float bowl screws into a wormhole into another dimension.
