Default Just put in a CVT drain plug on my P650 (Easy)

Hey all..I just put in a drain plug for the the CVT on my P650. It was really easy. I just went to ACE hardware and bought a 3/8 drain plug. Its made of rubber with a threaded thing going down the center and a little latch style handle. I drilled a 3/8 hole on the side cover near the bottom middle bolt hole on the cover (on the angles section) and thats that. The plastic drills really clean. Alls you do is slide in the drain plug and flip the latch to compress the rubber on the inside and tight as can be. Takes 1/2 a second to take out and put in. Just wanted to let yaz know of one way to make a drain plug. =)

Great info! Have you taken your bike in the water to make sure the plug doesn't let water in? Later

Well havent tried it yet, but if you look at it you can see if won't let water in. I'll have to take some pics. When you flip the thing it mashes the rubber hard against the inside of the CVT cover. Looks impossible for water to get in. =)

I bought the same thing last week, but was afraid of interference with the clutch. Post pictures, please.

I have been meaning to put on on mine, but haven't. If it is good enough for a boat, it is good enough for my quad. Besides, the cvt runs a positive pressure.

How close to the belt does the installed plug come? I would like to do something like this, but would be afraid of interference with the belt.

Well ya really can't measure, but by just eyeballin it you can see it won't hit nothing. It only sticks out 1/2 an inch if that on the inside and there are plastic area on the cover that are higher than that. As soon as I get my new belt and blask spring and I can test it out, i'll let yaz know how it goes
