Weak tie rods on KFX 700!
It must of been your friend I talked to then. After the race, I went up to a person on a orange 700 and asked him if he had any problems with his tie rods. He said yep, both twisted. Then he told me what Team Green did. So I went right over and they took care of me. If I would of known that they would of fixed it for me, I might of have done better. Kuddos for kawi and there support. But what ever the case, I had a blast. So how did you like that first tunnel?

Mike Penland sells tie rods for the V-Force that are designed and made for sprint cars. They are a ton stronger and are garanteed not to break but are not garanteed against bending. I have a set ready to put on and they are certainly beefier then the OEM. You can order the tie rods from Penland Brothers Racing at (706) 746-2812.

Man, sorry about the tie rods, at least you know you will be doing much better next time you go out. What was the competition? What place do you think you would have be in if the tie rods didnt bend? Sorry for all the questions, im just wondering what to expect when i start racing. I'd like to take my V out and race, but the folks wont let me until i have it paid off. Kawasaki has set an example for rider support, maybe all the other manufacturers will follow there lead. I kinda doubt it.

Kawi makes the tie rods weak on purpose, simply because they dont want them extremely strong from the factory to where if you hit something hard you bend the a-arms or something more expensive. So the weaker tie rods are actually a good thing for the weekend trailrider. If you dont race on a regular basis you will have no problems with the tie rods.

Not all mechanics know there stuff all I did to bend my tie rods was lock up the front tires in coal dust. The factory tie rods are designed to bend so when you hit something the handle bars will not kick out of your hands and jab you in the gut. That keeps Kawasaki from recieving any law suits. I did not go and buy heavier tie rods, I am a machinist, I made heavier tie rods.
