Did anyone trick out there Lakota to race or to be a true sport quad?

My Lakota has the racks and lights removed, shaved fenders, converted it to a manual clutch, Douglas wheels with Holeshots, Renthal bars and a DG headpipe & silencer with SuperTrapp Discs. DG swingarm skid plate and custom made chassis skid plate. It will keep up with a slightly modded 300 EX. Any more ?'s, just post 'em!

98Lakota,
I am curious too where you purchased a manual clutch kit for the Lakota and how much did it costs?
What size Holeshot's are you running on the front and rear?
Did you change the gearing(front and rear sprokets)at all?
Did you mod your intake?(airbox, snorkle, airfilter, etc)

Thanks

The clutch conversion was done when I bought the bike. All that was done to convert it was the centrifigual (sp?) part was removed and a lever was installed into the clutch cover to move the clutches. Not sure what it came from, but it works great. I do know that it uses the stock clutch plates and heavy duty springs. I know that Mickey Dunlap does this conversion, but mine was done by the previous owner. The bike has a UNI Filter and jet kit with the factory airbox and snorkle. As for the tires, 20x11x10 in the back and 21x7x10 in the front. It has a 13 tooth front sprocket.

Thanks for the info. My buddy is looking to do this to his Lakota.

I run those same tires on my EX. I really like them.

Well, I bought a Lakota for my wife a couple weeks ago. The racks and headlights are gone. I've installed a DG aluminum grab bar made for Mojave (required slight modification) and a Supertrap IDS2 pipe. Next is a K&N filter and I will play with sprokets. Later this summer or fall I will ship the engine to Four Stroke Tech for a 350+cc bore and stroke kit. Don't want the wife to get beat by other sport quads. I just want it to pull away from a 400EX which will happen (hey it's a Kawasaki). Different tires and wheel combos are in the works. When I get time I will get a web site of this 400EX eater web site going. Oh, the auto clutch will stay at wifes request. But, I have got the most ride time on it, its already a fun quad.

Let me know when you get that (400EX Eatter) website up. I want you to feature my 300EX too. I can't wait.

Might as well just buy the Mojave 250.I have a dirtwheels magazine(march)and it says in a drag race the Mojave get the jump off the line against a Lakota out to several bike length then they both top out at 60-65mph.I do not get this because I ride with a guy with a 95 Lakota and I keep up with him on the long staights and I can only do 55mph at best.Dirtweels also said a Rancher(50mph) will reel in a Wolverine(60mph) on the top end so go figger.

I'm doing some mods to my Lakota to jump and to race it better...
Which air filters, Pipes, silencers, and all the other things I can put on it to eat my friend's 300ex?? (I ask for the bests you try!)
