finally got to spank a Rincon
#1
Howdy all,
yesterday I finally got to line up with a Rincon on a smooth black top road for about 100 yds. It was really close for about 10 feet. That Rincon really falls flat when it shifts into second gear. 4 different riders swapped machines and ran them with the same results. The transmission really hurts the performance of the Rincon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fisherdude: it's the end opposite the end with the rubber donuts.
3TV: I run a similar course with a DS and a Raptor. A fast track with sharp turns, jumps, loose sand and dirt... always the same basic outcome. Whoever get's in front first stays in front. Unless we hit a long straight-away that lets the DS pull away from the raptor, and the raptor pull away from my prairie, we can't get away from each other. We haven't done individual timed runs, so not having other machines in front you could give different consistent results. But when we run together we're on each others butts the whole time. There's no real advantage or disadvantage between our bikes.
Having 4wd can be a definite benefit in tight twisties, no power slides just point and go. But that's not nearly as much fun as whipping the rear end around. Not to mention the great hole shot you get with twice the traction. And of course, mine can go hunting with me.

I'd pick the rincon for handling, fast trail riding ect... if you leave it stock
but If I was gonna put large tires on it, I'd buy the Grizz.... low range, locking differential, disc brakes (easier to clean the mud out)

Congratulations on the win, and I'm not dissing you any, but that is about as exciting as me telling you I can beat a P650 with my V700. In other words, we already knew what the outcome would be.
Tell you what I would like to see, ... a timed race over a five mile course through the mountains, with rocks, ruts, tree roots, uphills, downhills, turns, and a few jumps thrown in for fun. THEN come back and tell me which machine sets the fastest time. Seriously, you could have an equally modded or equally stock P650 and Rincon, with a group of four skilled riders that own neither of these machines as their own personal ATV. Turn them loose one at a time on each machine over this closed course, and simply record the times they set with each machine. Now THAT would be interesting. And may the best ATV win, ... who knows it might just be the P650 (and then again it may not end up being the P650).
