Default KFX 80, LT 80 Headlight

I want to install a headlight on my KFX 80. The only one I see available is the Maier Headlight Hood. It is kind of pricy and says it's only 25 watts.

Has anyone used this? Is it bright enough?

Are there any other headlights that can be added to a KFX 80 or any universal ones?

25 watts is about all you can run with the stock stator without running down the battery, even while running. I clamped a 35 watt fog light on my son's handlebars years back, it worked fine, but when we took a long trail ride of a few hours, when we stopped to rest and drink, it would not restart, low battery. Luckily I had a roll of wire in the tool box and was able to fab jumper wires to get it going. Look into some of the new style LED lights, very light, brighter than a 25 watt incadescent lamp, and use a fraction of the power. A simple conduit clamp will allow you to put it on the handlebars, and a small fender marker LED red light can be used as a tail light. I mostly used the lights for safety, so he could be seen easier, didnt really rely on them for night driving, not the best thing for a young driver to be doing anyway.

LED headlights make the Maier Headlight Hood look cheap!
