My kid's interested in racing 50cc stock quads. We are NW of Atlanta and looking for something close, but would be willing to travel some (2-3 hour drive) to see a race and maybe run some practice.

Where and when is this going on near us?

I live in Georgia too. We race in the 90 class. The only place in Georgia that I could find to race mini quads is Highfalls Sx in Highfalls Ga. They had a decent turn out of 90's in the winter series that they had. I dont think anyone is racing there in the summer series because they changed thier race day to Friday night.
If you want to see some good mini quad racing with a good turnout then you need to go to Alabama. That's what we did. They have a series that goes to five different tracks in north Alabama. The next race in the series is at Millcreek motorcross track in Pell City, Alabama on May31st. This will be a night race. Their phone number is 205-699-8857.
It's a shame we dont have more mini quads racing at some of the tracks in North georgia. As you probably know we have several Mx tracks in North Georgia.

 

I agree it is a shame... I have heard that teh mini atv hare scrambles at Durhamtown are a bust... not enough turn out for races most of the time. I was interested in Talking Rock Arena since they have peewee MX track, but it looks like they don't really have any organized racing schedule. They list one dirtbike race this summer, and no ATV races are scheduled.

The action in Alabama sounds interesting, but some of those races might get a bit too far away for us to be able to travel to on a regular basis.

I'd really like to see something in GA start up if there isn't anything going on now... a stock atv class with some friendly competition for the kids. I want to stay away from the "daddy warbucks" type racing, as I don't have an unlimited budget or time to dedicate.

I may make a run up to Talking Rock and see what's up there.. it's a short drive from my place, and even if they don't have racing, we can get some practice in.

west man i dont mean to bother u but do they have 200cc racing there. and there is a track in toccoa too ii believe. i went there last summer but i think they may have closed it down. n e wayz bryce tell ur son good luck. hope he does well!

 

In Alabama they have a mini atv class which is up to 90cc for twostrokes and 125cc for fourstrokes. They also have a beginner mini class available but they never have anyone enter that class. And of course they have the big quad class which they always have a major turnout for. Durning they winter months they run a arena cross series. We havent been to any of the arena cross races so I dont know what classes they run in it.

 

This is probably to far but in Western Kentucky there is a flattrack series that has short track and TT at each race. there are several mini's that race. my kid races a 90 predator. go to stevenaceracing.com to see the schedule.
