Default Pipe???

I have a sportman 90 and i just put a performance CDI on it. It improved the top end but the bottom end power it horrible. Would a pipe, 24 mm carb, a clutch kit, and the right jets help the bottom end power and the take off thanks alot

Default Pipe???

I got a new CDI without a rev limiter from Tomco at http://www.miniatvparts.com.

I'm working on a way to hook it up and keep the factory kill switches... I'm having a little bit of a problem with it because the factory CDI wanted the kill switch circuit to be closed to ground when running, but the new CDI want's the kill switch circuit open when running and closed to ground to kill it.

I'm thinking about using a SPDT relay hooked up like this... Pin 86 on the relay to a fused/switched 12v and Pin 85 to the Kill switches... this would energize the relay when teh kill switches were all in the run position (completes the circuit and runs to ground). Pin 30 to ground; Pin 87 ununsed; Pin 87a to the CDI. When the relay is energized, pin 87a would be open and the CDI woud run. Flip a kill switch (any or all), the circut de-energizes, Pin 30, Pin 87a connect, and the cdi is then connected to ground.. this will kill the engine.

I was going to do this tonight, but couldn't find a SPDT relay on the way home.

Default Pipe???

scramblur50 there is no doubt that the rlay will work but the abuse this thing will take from moisture ,vibration, whatever else, would lead me to believe that there would be headaches involved later...for the price of a quality relay and harness kit you can purchase a quality tether that will work without all the hassle.this is just my opinion but as for me when racing or just trail riding the simpler the better when problems arise.

Sportsman,

You must have got a 50 cdi from your supplier by mistake. Ask them to swap it out with a 90 cdi. The timing program is different for a 50 and a 90.
