FMF Pipe for predator 90
#2
fmf says 6 weeks away for about the 6th time, try tomco they have a nice chrome plated pipe that comes with jetting and he has the stuff to make the clutch work properly as well.i talked with rocky mtn several times they haven't done any testing so guess who gets to tell them what did or didn't work.go with someone who actually uses what they sell ,trouble shooting will be alot easier...

I agree with talking to Tommy at Tomco ( Click Here ).
I got a pipe from Tomco Friday.. tried to put it on, and it was a no go... it was up against the battery box, and I would have melted battery on the quad if we used it. I talked to him, and he offered to come out to my house to check it out. He showed up, and we both decided that this pipe was not going to work for me. He had brought another pipe along just incase. He not only installed that pipe, but all the other parts that I had gotten from him that I had not put on and then helped me rejet it. He was also helping other customers out on his cell phone while he worked on mine!!! Now thats service!!
The folks over at WRH Racing ( Click Here ) have also been very helpful and even made custom foot pegs to give them short legged daughter a little boost! Great folks over there too.

What kind of power increase did you get with the tomco stuff? We have the only predator 90 at the 2 tracks we run at,so we don't get any feedback or comparisons from local riders.Tired of getting holeshoted by LT80's on steroids.

Well.. On our little 50, I got it up to 32mph before I chickened out It had more to go. This was with a DRR CDI (no rev limiter), Tecnigas pipe, Uni filter, 105 main jet, 5.5g roller weights, and 18T/27T gears. The bottom end is a bit weak right now, so I've gone back 19T/35T gears for now... It gets 25mph like that, and that's pleanty fast for my 5yo. It brought the power on a little quicker that way too. I haven't had it to the track yet, but all of this really opened it up.
We were topping out at 16mph before, but that was a lot to do with the CDI. The CDI install was not just a swap it in kind of thing either. Just swapping it in would let it run, but the kill switches didn't work, and you had to run it with the tether pulled out, and kill it by putting the tether in. The Polaris CDI want's the kill switches to run to ground to run and open to kill. The DRR CDI wants the kill switches open to run and ground to kill. I have figured out a way to do this with a relay. Here's a diagram of how that works...

the scrambler 90cc cdi will work fine all i did was tie the 3 bar kill switch wires together(this eliminates the bar sw)remove the junk stock pred tether install a prodesign to to ground and to the coil hot pole.this works fine and still has full key function the elimination of the bar sw was a plus for us cause my son would hit it sometimes on the rough stuff and kill the bike.as far as the tomco pipe goes it doesnt fit the pred at all.tomco is supposed to fix or figure out why.i had to cut mine up and add a cone and rotate two plus build a header pipe as far as perf it rips on mid and top but its a dog off the line.the stock set up was WAYfaster off the line......

Thanks for teh spring, Tommy... I'll keep an eye out for it. I guess there's 2 of us now that that pipe didn't work with... We haven't made it to the track to test out the mods on our 50 yet, but on the street, I hit 32-33mph before I chickened out I put back the 35T rear sprocket until Alyssa want's some more. It does a good 25mph that way. Other than that, I can't comment on the performance of the pipe, but it sure looks pretty
