How much water will this quad handle. A couple of inches being splashed and 10" going slow??. Thinking of getting an 03. Are the newer ones better than the old ones. Are all CVT and even manual kids quads the same.

The water splashing isn't such a big deal but you don't want to drive through water that is deep enough to get into the clutches. To be safe limit yourself to the bottom of the floorboards and run your transmission vent tube up above the transmission.I don't have any experience with the older models but the new ones are great. To answer your other question no all the quads are not the same. They may look similar but if you check out the details you will find they are different. Some quads can be made under two different names however so be sure to watch for that.
