TRX90: need more power/speed
#1
My 12 year old (5'2", 100 lbs) is on a TRX90. He is getting frustrated because he can't climb some of the dunes he would like to. He doesn't get the Blaster though til I can move up the food chain
Are there any inexpensive things I can do to help him gain more power? Are there any limiters or restrictors that I need to remove?
It's a stock 2002. Thanks all!!!

COming out of the engine case is a set of wires. One of these wires is pink. That is a ground to the cdi once the machine gets into 4th gear. Cut that wire and the machine will improve. Cost $0

My buddy is buying a new one for his daughter tommorrow. Are there any things we should look for or any problem areas? It looks like it's built tough as nails. It's way too big for my 4yr old but his 6yr old girl should fit good, her parents are both over 6', she is already very tall and long legged.

Cat500i,
My son has loved his. It has run like a champ too with just basic maintenance. I mean no problems at all. It took him a while before he was able to start it on his own, so he had to stay close (but that is not a bad thing when you are talking kids and quads.) It has been a great all-around quad.
Every kid and many of the adults we know have zipped around on it at one time or another. I think they are a great choice if you are looking at the long-term (my little guy is 4 now but will eventually move up to it) and fun, not competitive riding.
We ride dunes, tight, muddy trails, and logging roads. The TRX90 has done a great job all around.
Hope that helps!
