Predator 90 cdi mph
#2
I'm not too sure if a factory CDI off a scrambler will increase MHP speed on the Pred-90. If you want to increase the performance of a Pred-90, here's something I found in my local archives...
< --------------------- >
There are several ways to make a Pred-90 faster -- the CDI is one of the least important areas of concern. You can perform the following:
1. Install a better air filter. K&N & Uni-filters are the most common.
2. Next, add a pipe. WRH_Racing & FMF Fatty makes a great pipe.
3. Changing sprockets will also help.
4. Thereafter, you can go with some mild cylinder changes, and some clutch changes.
* If all the work does not help, replacement of the CDI box would be in line. I say replacement because it is the best way to insure clean performance on the Polaris.

Hope this helps..

heres whats weird in my manual it says as follows
speed can be adjusted by removing or installing the jumper on the cdi.with the jumper installed
50cc models will travel no faster then 10mph and 90cc models no faster then 15mph.with the
jumper removed, 50cc models will travel no faster then 15mph and 90cc models will travel no faster then 30mph.
thats in the speed control systems part of the owners manual , i wonder if they govern the speed with the cdi or by machine restrictions, you would be right about changing the top speed with pipes and such if thats how they govern it. i would just hate to put all those modfications on it if it didnt make it any faster. yeah it would get there alot quicker but if the cdi still grabbed it by the ***** at 30mph that would suck..

The Predator cdi is very limited. Go to Hetrick or WRH and tell them you want a new CDI. It makes all the difference in the world for this machine. You can also look on E-Bay for a E-Ton CDI. Put it on and clip the green wire in the back of it. Happy Days!
